18-20 December 2026 | NIT Kurukshetra
Renewable energy solutions are becoming cheaper, more reliable, and efficient. Yet, our continued dependence on fossil fuels remains both unsustainable and damaging to the planet. Accelerating the deployment of clean energy technologies is not optional; it is essential to combating climate change, one of the biggest threats to survival. Energy storage technologies are critical pillars of this transition, enabling renewable energy sources to deliver consistent, dependable power. Hydrogen has significant potential to decarbonize the energy sector entirely, providing a zero-emission alternative to fossil fuels across a wide range of applications. Green technologies aim to conserve the natural environment and resources. It can operate across diverse areas such as sustainable energy technologies, renewable energy, green hydrogen, biofuels, e-mobility, energy storage systems, solid waste management, energy system planning, and operational issues. Industry and society demand a wide range of storage options, from small-scale to large-scale, including both mobile and stationary applications. In this context, the 2nd International Conference on Green Energy and Sustainable Technology (ICGEST-2026) is to be organised by the Department of Energy Science & Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, with the theme "Green Hydrogen and Energy Storage for a Sustainable Green Economy".
The First Conference (ICGEST-2025) was successfully organised by NIT Kurukshetra during 5-7 Jan. 2024, with around 110 papers presented from 300 submitted. The conference proceedings were published in Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering by Springer (Scopus-indexed). This year, the conference will cover core themes, including Renewable Energy Technologies, Energy Efficiency and Conservation, Sustainable Fuels and Green Chemistry, and the Climate Change and Environmental Impact of Energy Systems. ICGEST 2026 aims to be the main theme of the conference on Green Hydrogen generation as an alternative and efficient solution for addressing global energy challenges. The topics also include Smart Energy Materials/Nanomaterials and Technologies, Energy Policy, Economics, and Social Impacts. In addition to sustainable energy, the conference will address issues such as green environment, biodiversity, sustainable resource planning and management, pollution control, waste-to-energy management, climate change mitigation, and the adaptation of green technologies for energy and environmental applications.
Topic areas include, but are not limited to:
Sustainable Energy and Developments, Geothermal Energy, Bio-energy, Green Energy,
Biomass Energy, Waste-to-Energy, Solar Energy, Wind Energy
Environmental Engineering and Environmental Science, Green Buildings,
Impact on Agriculture, smart transportation,
Thus, the conference aims at bringing the latest technologies and advancements in the field of Green Energy, Green Hydrogen generation and storage, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, and Storage Technologies and provide an international forum and platform for academics, researchers, and scientists worldwide to discuss results and proposals on issues related to Green Energy and Environmental Technologies.
